Snowy turned to look at Sunny, "I'm fine. And no problem. Mates do that for each other." She felt uncomfortable saying that, not just because they were new mates, but a pang reminded her of Pine, her first mate, who was killed by her former Pack, The Pack of Wilting Flowers. Snowy barked softly, "I better tell you all about my past. Not just you, my pups, but Sunny also." She looked at him, with a look full of both sorrow and love.
Snowy began, "I was thrown out of my pack, The Pack of Wilting Flowers, a few trips of the Moon Dog before now. For one thing, I was half dog, and they were a wolf pack, the majority of it, anyways. And because I was half-dog, I was smaller than all the others. Anyways, I found a mate, Pine. He was wonderful. He would have been a wonderful father for you, pups. But he was outside the Pack, and once the Pack found out, they became very angry. They sought out Pine, captured him, and brought him back to our camp. They killed him brutally before my eyes, scarred me, and threw me out." She showed them a scar down her left flank, usually hidden by her thick fur. "After a few weeks, I was found by Sunny. And soon after, I had you pups. And now, this is where we live." The pups stared at her, wide-eyed. Snowy looked up at Sunny to see if he would say anything about her past.
