With this tail I could swim better than I could ever do before. It still wasn't perfect but had I truly expected it to be? I also learned quickly that I had more fish qualities than just a tail, I could breath under water. It felt strange but not totally horrible. It was very beautiful down here but i didn't want to live here. I was unsure of whether or not if I went back on land that my legs would return. I swam deeper into the coral reef lost in thought about what was going to happen. I glanced to my side and stopped swimming out of mix of terror and surprise. There was another girl in the water, but that wasn't what surprise me. What shocked me was her lower body was a dark blue and silver fish tail. She turned her head towards me and I ducked out of the way. I hope she didn't see me. I looked over to see my hair still following me. Darn my long hair this is why I keep mine short, well not really but still. The other mermaid started to slowly swim over. Shoot, what do I do now? Well she is another mermaid so she'll probably be accepting of me. What if she is a natural born mermaid and thinks I'm some creepy mutaint. A natural born mermaid that's a laugh. Who's ever heard of a real mermaid. I scowled. Says the girl who one day woke up and turned into a mermaid. I took a deep breath and looked up to meet the gaze of the surprised mermaid.
