Chapter 15- point of view, Silver
"Where are they taking Blaise?" Kodah asked, looking at the fish, grabbing onto the trailing rope that was tying Blaise together and pulling her through the water.
"Anaia says somewhere off the island," Tigris replied. Silver looked around, and realized she couldn't see Anaia.
"Where is Anaia, anyway?" She asked, sharpening her two daggers. The waterfall parted, and Anaia walked through. She was the only person who could make it happen, even Rose's water manipulation didn't work on it.
"I was with the creatures of the Echo Temple," she replied, looking Silver in the eye. She seemed a lot more confident here. After that, there was a long pause. This happened a lot, lately, after the Blaise incident. Nobody trusted each other all over again.
"I suggest we tell our stories. Ones that have to do with the darkness," Rose said abruptly.
"Oh yeah? And will you be willing to go first?" Silver shot at her.
"Yes, I will," Rose said, with an edge to her voice.
"I actually think this is a good idea," Cleo commented.
"Alright then. Go ahead, Rose," Tigris said, with a thin smile but the vibe coming from her was "hello, your leader here?" Rose took a breath before starting, and deciding it would probably take awhile, Silver settled herself down in some comfortable moss.
"I was visiting the Harry Potter Fandom town with Joy when those beasts we encountered attacked. Luckily for us, we were camping away from the town. We heard the howl of the beasts, and then an explosion, and the screams. The place was on fire," Rose said.
"Wait!" Anaia interrupted. She held out a small pearl and handed it to Rose. "It will project your memory if you hold it in one hand and close your eyes," she said. Rose hesitated, then did what she said. Silver was plunged into Rose's memory, and suddenly was surrounded by burning buildings. This was not her idea of project. Silver spotted Rose and a girl next to her, probably Joy. Arrows fired over their heads, and Silver looked around and spotted several Darkened figures standing on a hill. A Beast ran through her, and tackled an SAMBer, though Silver didn't know who, and she heard a sickening tearing sound and a scream abruptly cut off. For a second she thought she lost track of Rose and Joy, but spotted them running down a small, dark ally. She took off after her, and still found it strange that her footsteps didn't make any sound. Silver looked back and saw the Darkened SAMBers had advanced. She spotted a Darkened Daisy stab her lightsaber through Crescent. She looked back and saw Rose turn a corner with Joy, then jumped through a hole in the city wall, and Joy disappeared. Silver saw a glimpse of Rose looking around frantically, when the memory was gone, and Silver was sitting on her moss bed once more.
Cleo, Kodah, Freya, and Twitch went next. Silver didn't think she would ever get the sound of screams out of her head. When Ashes handed Silver the Pearl, she hesitated. "Go on," Ashes said, looking grim. Silver clutched the pearl, and closed her eyes. She was plunged into a forest, the sky black. She found herself walking next to Eris. The only sound that could be heard was their footsteps, and an owl in the distant. Silver paused, and so did Eris. Ccccrrrreak. Ccccrrreak. Silver felt her breathing quicken. She knew what would happen next. An earsplitting shriek, and a figure was holding a dagger to Eris's neck. Silver was frozen in shock. She couldn't see the figure's face.
"You belong to me now," the figure hissed, and gradually, Eris' features began to change. Her eyes were full black, with a red pupil. Her hair was so black it blended into the night. Her fingers stretched and turned into misshapen claws, and a forked tongue flicked out of her mouth, and she opened her mouth to revel sharpened teeth. Silver turned and ran at top speed, crashing through thorns and brambles but not even noticing how it scratched her up. "Kill her!" The Darkened SAMBer screeched, and Silver heard Eris crashing through the undergrowth after her. She passed a river, and saw a reflection. Not a scratch, she noticed. Yeah, well because this is just a memory. She spotted and alligator in the stream, and wanted to scream in agony as she remembered her next move. She could feel Eris' breath on her neck, and then she jumped, right over the alligator as it opened it's mouth- and Eris jumped right into the jaws. They slammed shut on Eris, and her tortured screams were muffled as Silver landed into the water. The memory faded..... right into another one. Oh no. She had forgotten she had two Darkened encounters. Silver was running at full sprint, aware of two other SAMBers next to her. She was holding her daggers out, and chasing someone. She didn't recognize her at first, but the word forming on her lips was: Seeker!
"She's been Darkened!" She heard herself screech. Silver noticed the land turning rockier under foot. She found herself considering throwing a dagger at Seeker's back, but didn't want her to use her power on it. Seeker was able to speed up or slow down the time of objects. She also considered making something out of silver with her power, but what would help? An idea popped in mind, and she snapped her fingers. A cord appeared in front of Seeker, made of silver. She tripped over it and went flying. Silver jumped and stabbed her dagger out, just missing Seeker as she rolled. Seeker took out a sword, and sliced at Silver, who backflipped away, landing gracefully and rolling away as Seeker struck out again, just nicking her side. Silver winced and could feel blood welling there. No, no blood! I'm in a memory! Wow, I totally let it take hold of me there. She saw one of the other SAMBers circling Seeker, on her feet again. The face was blurred out. Huh. I wonder why. The other SAMBer threw a knife at Seeker from behind. She just twisted away, and SAMBer #1 hit Seeker in the leg with a staff, and Silver was on her feet again. Seeker round-housed SAMBer #2, and palm-striked SAMBer #1 just as Silver upper-cutted her in the chin and stabbed one of her daggers in her side. Seeker collapsed and rolled, and was up on her feet and running. The other SAMBers followed Silver as they ran after Seeker. They came to a cliff, which Seeker almost backed off of. She glanced at it, then smiled sadly, stepping back further.
"It's for the best," she said.
"No! Seeker we don't want you to kill yourself!" Silver screamed, and then she was back in the cave.
This is 2/3 of the chapter. I'll finish the rest tomorrow
