Ok, I'll think about it. They won't find the cure to the darkness until the end of the story, though.
Chapter seven- point of view, Blitz
They were on the road again, trudging through the forest. Faith estimated they would be out of the forest in about a half and hour. As long as they kept up the pace. The pace flipped from jog to walk. Most of the SAMBers were tired and hungry. That made most people grumpy. Blitz's stomach growled. She'd only eaten a rabbit leg and a handful of raspberries. "Guys...." Faith said slowly.
"What?" Swiftstar snapped, and Tigris elbowed her.
"Well, there may or may not be someone else in this forest. Besides me. I think I saw them once or twice by the river. So if a random person shows up, don't attack. Unless they're Darkened," Faith said.
"Are you giving orders now?" Tigris said.
"No, actually, it's called a suggestion, if you ever heard of one," Faith retorted.
"Wait, you mean the river we passed twenty minutes ago?" Swiftstar almost screamed.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! What Faith said is important and the parts you reacted to are not," Grace said. She has a point.
"And, who ever is here probably has heard us by now," Danny her gang member said. He glanced at Blitz, and she nodded.
"Um, shouldn't we keep moving?" Blitz suggested. Waiting around made her feel vulnerable. They all turned to look at her, which made her feel uncomfortable.
"Yes, lets stop bickering and go. Thank you for telling us, Faith," Tigris said through gritted teeth. They continued to stomp around the forest for ten more minutes until they felt a strange presence.
"Okay, stop. There is seriously something creepy here," Cleo said, holding up her hand and stopping. Blitz had felt it to, and decided to stop and listen. Nothing. Wait a second.
"Guys...." Blitz began.
"Wait, doesn't everything get still and silent before-" Kodah began, but didn't finish. Three snarling beasts jumped out of the undergrowth. Blitz stared at them, shocked with fear, but quickly recovered. She grabbed her dagger with an emerald hilt. She took a good look at the beasts. They had wolf-like ears and a narrow muzzle, mouths opened and their tongues lolling. Big sharp fangs stuck out of their mouths and went past their muzzles, dripping saliva. Their eyes were deep pools of blue that flashed to scarlet and back. They had a mottled gray-blue fur with brown patches. Muscles covered every inch of their body, including their heads. They had short tails and long legs.
"Before a dark force of evil is upon us!" Cassy screamed, finishing for her. Silver was the closest, and she jumped. She whipped around and punched the first beast in the nose. It only growled and leaped at her. Storm whirled around with her bo-staff, and whacked the beast on the head, then it's chin. It snarled and turned away from Silver, to her. Storm gasped and whipped out her dagger.
"Everyone stay together!" Tigris yowled. The second beast had Blaise pinned against a tree, and she shot a fire ball in it's face, it recoiled, whimpering. The fire singed the fur off the muzzle, then quickly went out. Luckily, it had given Blaise time to slip around and attack the beast from the back. Twitch ran over to Blaise, and using his mind, lifted up a log and dropped it on the beast's head. It's eyes rolled and it staggered, but it soon recovered.
"How do you fight this thing?" Silver screeched, frantically slashing at the first beast with her two daggers. Tigris was darting in and slashing the third Beast with her claws, but they hardly scraped the beast's flank. Kagami then shot an arrow at it's heart, and it yelped. Blitz expected it to die, but it didn't. The fur and muscles are to thick! Realizing she had just been standing there, Blitz charged at the first Beast. She cut the tip of it's tail off with her dagger, and it growled, spinning around and knocking into her so fast she didn't have time to breathe. The wind was knocked out of her as she landed, and then the beast was on her. It bit into her arm, and she screamed as her arm blazed with pain. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the third beast grab Tigris' tail, swing her, and bang her into a tree. She heard another scream, but her vision was already beginning to dot with black, and she was aware of nothing but pain.
It's not finished, but here is some
