this is NOT the whole chapter, m8s
Night Robin wasn’t sure what happened, but she was ticked off about it.
She had taken the time to sit down and soak in the nice weather - warm, partly cloudy, cool breezes. She sat down on a bench with Lost. He was messing with his blow-gun, like he was bored. He looked a little different and lonely, with his dark gray hair and blue eyes. He was taller than her. He wore a green t-shirt and jeans, along with brown half-gloves.
Night Robin looked around the field, searching for her friend Aphrodite. She finally spotted her, several yards away, on another bench with Fiona and Selene.
She glanced down, and saw a small puddle. She saw her reflection.
She had black hair in a pixie-cut, gray eyes, slightly tanned skin, a dark gray t-shirt with a black skull on it, jeans, and her blue braclet. She was short and slightly built, but she didn’t mind.
Night Robin took out her slingshot and pulled back on the band. A nice breeze stirred the air. She had just got to thinking that maybe she could get a burger from Selene when boom.
Suddenly there were alarms coming from seven different directions, everyone was on their feet, weapons were drawn, and screams came from everywhere.
She got up and took a step forward. She stepped in the puddle, soaking her sneaker. Lost got up, looking around.
“What’s happening?” Night Robin asked him.
Lost shrugged. “Everyone’s running.” He looked at her. “As should we.”
“But,” Night Robin complained, pointing. “Pizz C, Zero -”
“They’re a general and officer.” said Lost. “They can do that. You’re a healer and I’m a scout. We’re not trained in battle. Now run!”
She tried. She ran fast, but then arrows were coming down on them. Eevee called for Crescent. Someone screamed Cassy’s name. Bianca darted by with Happy in her arms. Kitsune ran in front of Night Robin, ramming into her shoulder.
“Oh my God I’m sorry,” Kitsune said, which Night Robin found sweet considering this could be the end.
“Doesn’t matter,” said Lost. “We have to run.”
The air level dropped. Wind came from the enterance, pushing people around. The gust shot to the left and was so powerful it sent Bianca, Selene, and Crescent flying into the pond. It came at Lupa next, and she had so much battle armor on that all the wind could do was knock her over and send her sliding across the grass. It turned sharply, heading straight at Night Robin.
Kistune turned into a lioness and flattened to the ground, sinking her claws into the soil. Night Robin yelped and tried to do the same as Kitsune. The wind flew straight at her, but at the last moment veered away, picking up Sakura and slamming her into a tree.
“NO!” Kitsune screamed, running over to help.
The wind had stopped, but now weapons were raining down from the entrance. Javelins, harpoons, arrows, darts, and even throwing knives. Night Robin knew there were way to many to block, especially when all she had was a slingshot. Lost raised his blow gun to his mouth but the enemies were in the trees outside the entrance, almost impossible to hit.
The weapons soared over the people at the front trying to escape and went at everyone in the middle of the property or close to the castle.
Night Robin looked back, saw the tree Sakura had hit, and briefly considered hiding behind it.
But it was too late. The weapons were so close she could see the coloring. She dropped to one knee and raised her hands weakly over her face.
And then there was Cassy.
The general was only yards in to the left but still in front of Night Robin. Her wavy sandy blond hair and her green cloak were still despite the breeze. She had a white one-shoulder top, brown peasant skirt, and her feet were bare.
She thrust out her hands, her fingers apart and clawed like she was trying to leave scratch marks on something. A great wall of fire built up, so thick and long that all weapons disintegrated except two water arrows, but Aphrodite came forward and held out one hand. The arrows turned to clear water still in the form of an arrow, and then split in half, fell as liquid water, and soaked into the soil.
Meanwhile heat waves were coming over Night Robin, so hot she started wondering if she would get burns. The flames roared, a high wall of extreme power. They flickered orange and yellow, cutting the field in half vertically.
And then Cassy put her hands down. The fire was gone as quickly as it had started. The enemies retreated. The grass where the wall of flames had been was either brown or completely gone.
Night Robin, amazed, scrambled to her feet.
Cassy looked exhausted, but she turned and called, “Anyone hurt?”
Night Robin, as a healer, said, “Sakura hit the tree.”
“Cresent’s shoulder has a gash, Bianca’s unconscious, and Selene has a dart in her leg!” shouted Eevee.
“Happy and Makis!” said Selene.
“Kitsune has a cut on her shoulder.” replied Conrade.
“I’m fine!” said Happy and Kitsune at the same time.
And then about twenty people were shouting who was hurt and who wasn’t.
Tigris yowled, “ENOUGH, ENOUGH!”
Everyone stopped and looked at her.
“That is quite enough.” Tigris repeated. “If you’re injured, hand up.”
About three-quarters of everyone there’s hand went into the air.
“Generals,” said Tigris loudly. “Take the unharmed quarterers inside.”
