Tei Fangh
You could imagine my surprise when me, a street rat, was chosen-well, forced more or less- to do a Nectar ceremony. "I hate nectar ceremonies. I don't want to do it." I growled. Some of the other kids, the younger ones, looked up in disbelief. "How?! You get to summon an animal? That's super cool! I once heard my grandpa summoned a lion once. I heard my Grandma summoned a beard too! A really cool one!" They cooed, another piped up,
"Birds aren't cool! They're boring like my school teacher!" The first boy huffed. "My grandma's bird wasn't boring! She ate bones!" He smirked.
"Your grandma eats bones?!"
I walked away from the sudden argument. The officers said they'd come and pick me up a little later in the afternoon. It was about 11:30 now. Hopefully they'll be extremely late.
"Why don't you just run off? Since you're so hesitant to do the ceremony?" One of the older kids said. She was 14, her name was Leai. "I don't want to go through the process of naturally summoning an animal... That is if I have one to summon." I muttured. I was cornered. Either I face the ceremony and let thousands of people watch me, or I(possibly) suffer summoning an animal without

It was past noon-almost 1- when the guards came up. There were two. Did they think I was going to try and attack them? I don't like authority but i;m not going to attack someone I know is much more advanced than me in fighting. "Come on." He said in a surly voice. A shiver ran up my back as I got up and followed them. My bare feet lightly tapping against the cold concrete. "So what's going to happen? Am I going to summon an animal? Will the person giving nectar know If I Summon one or not? Do I name my animal? Does my animal name me? Do we hare a bond? What kind of bond? Can we talk to each other? Or is it more of a mind thing? What-" I couldn't stop asking questions, or give the man time to speak. His partner clapped his hand against my mouth and had a somewhat pained/agitated look on his face. "Kid, shut up please." I huffed and slapped his hand away. I didn't want to do the Ceremony. Ever fiber in my bones ached to run away.
We were there.
I could've sworn the walk towards it was longer than that! Did I ask that many questions? Did I stay quiet until the end and just explode? I thought I was going to puke, I turned around to go back but the officers had grabbed my arms. "That hurts." It was more of a statement than an exclamation but I doubt either of them cared anyway. The pushed me towards the little stage for the Nectar. I looked up and saw a wizened old man, his arms looked as if they were about to break any moment. In his arms he held the nectar. The nectar seemed to be weighing heavily on him due to his fraitality. "Tei Fangh. Daughter of Koil Fangh?" He raised a furry white eyebrow and I just glared at him. He smiled, a twinkle in his eye, which made me somewhat irritated. "here, drink the nectar. See if the odds weigh against, or with you." He reached out his arms to hand me the nectar. I stared at it for a moment.
I don't want to do this. My arms moved anyway. The bowl was actually a bit heavier than I imagined, it's designed were very detailed and intricately carved. Lifting it with cold, shivering fingers, I parted my lips and let the ooze slide down my throat. I don't know how much I drank, it just felt like too much. It tasted... Zesty. It was sweet at first, but then it began to turn into a taste similar to expired mustard mixed with old milk. I gagged slightly and the old man took the bowl back. Is he... Is he vibrating? Everything is vibrating! I-is this an earthquake?! I felt shaking and I could feel my body, not the ground, trembling. A sudden flash of light struck down from the sky next to me. I screamed but no sound came out. I swear i'm going blind! I looked dead at the light! Everything however, dimmed down and I surprisingly wasn't blind. A few people gasped and I opened my eyes slightly.
"Is that a tiger?" I muttured, unbelieving of what was standing in front of me. It wa a large white tiger. She was magnificent, her eyes stared right at me and caused constant shivers up and down my back. I only saw her for a second though. Her figure dimmed away and I slowly began to black out. I heard several gasps from the crowd and a few rushed voices before complete and utter darkness and silence.
So i;m not exactly sure what to do next? Is everyone getting on the boat or are we going to the greencloaks???
