In a story I'm thinking of writing, there are three major plot points:
1. A girl stays at a family friend's house for a couple weeks in December, because her dad is on a business trip and her mom is also busy. She becomes friends with her daughter, who is her age, and meets some new friends along the way.
2. A boy who goes to the school all of the kids are at makes up a lie that his parents are divorced, to cover up the fact that his mom is actually dead. When his stepmom sends an email to everyone in his grade, somewhere in there mentioning something bad happening to him and his dad, he is forced to tell the truth.
3. A boy who is a junior in high school discovers he's a *Mendel voice* homosexual and struggles with telling people after the first person he comes out to doesn't take it well.
