Rain pattered the ground, making the grassy slope muddy and hard to fight in. The two groups of cats clashed anyways. The battle had originally started on the hill, but a hill is very hard to fight on. Most of the cats had tumbled down the sides of the hills, but a few pairs were still fighting at the top. Two brown tabbies circled each other, one with a darker tabby pelt and was older, the other younger, and with a lighter pelt. "Thornstar! This is madness, there's no way we can fight, rain or shine. Call off your cats." The darker tabby yelled over the roaring of the rain and the screeching and yowling of the fighting cats.
"I don't care!" The other tabby tom yelled back. "You will pay for what you have done!"
"I would never order my warriors to do such a dishonorable thing, Thornstar. Please-"
"Your wasting your words on me, elder." Thornstar spat. "This is going to be the first of many battles!"
"Says the cat who killed-"
"My clan didn't do it!" Thornstar roared and lunged at Owlstar.
"Fine. If you want to fight, then so be it!" Owlstar snapped, charging towards Thornstar.
"I still can't believe you! Starclan wouldn't do such a cruel and terrible thing!" A gray, black and white she-cat cried out.
A gray tabby shook his head sadly. "We were trying to prevent this..." He nodded to the battle that was happening in the pool.
"By killing cats?" The she-cat demanded, bristling.
"What else could we do? They shouldn't have been born. They should be dead!" The tom protested.
The she-cat growled, but before she could answer another cat intruppted. "What do you mean, Graystar? I'm confused." She was a brown tabby.
The last leader of Dayclan sighed. "Watch," He said, and the pool flickered.
The first image showed a she-cat giving birth, her pelt the same colors as the arguing she-cat. Three kits mewled, and with a final heave a fourth kit slid out the the mother shuddered. Blood leaked out, and she weakly licked each of her kits, and then collasped. She didn't get up again. The medicine cat stared in horror and the scene shifted. It showed the four kits, older now, about five moons old. A fox snarled, and lunged at one of them - a gray tom. A lighter gray kit leaped in front, and the fox's fangs sinked into his throat. There was a pattering of paws, and and a ginger tom leaped at the fox. The scene shifted again, and it showed the same ginger tabby tom. He coughed, and let out a shuddering breath, and his head fell to the floor and his eyes weakly closed. Before the pool could shift again, the gray, black and white she-cat spoke up. "Stop it!"
Graystar nodded, and the pool shifted back to the battle. "What about -"
In the pool, it showed a white tom, turn around and his ice-blue eyes widened. The roar of a monster was heard, and then the scene showed a shaking brown tabby she-cat. Four kits were in the curve of her belly, nursing, but the she-cat didn't have enough strength to go on. "I love you," She murmered and rested her head on the end of her nest.
The kits mewled for a mother. Next it showed a silver she-cat, slowly getting up. A growling badger, raised it's paw, the long claws shining in the sunshine. A dark gray she-cat leaped in front of the other she-cat. The silver she-cat stared, tears brimming in her eyes. Finally it showed a very dark gray tom, laying in a nest, looking scrawny and his fur was ungroomed. He moaned, coughed and closed his eyes. Then the pool turned back to the battle. It was not looking good for either sides.
"So... you-" The brown tabby stuttered out.
"Yes." Graystar sighed. "We just didn't want the battle to happen. We even tried making it rain, but Thornstar's will is now unstoppable. Owlstar will keep on trying to make peace, but Thornstar will refuse. Eventually Owlstar will join us. The next leader could continue the battle. The clans are doomed and-"
"Wow, Graystar, you're SO inspiring. Isn't there anything we can do?" The gray, white and black she-cat demanded.
The old tom shook his head. "There is nothing we can do. The clans will destroy each other. Whether it was those monster's plans or not."
Aaaand, that's the end! Yes, it's short, it's the prolouge. Some of our chapters may be shorter or longer than others. This is for fun. And before you ask, there are no ACTUAL monsters running around. No beats with three eyes or bright purple fur, no. It's the insult-ish. Thing. I don't know XD And, if you have questions, we may not be able to answer them. Yes, it has begun already >:)
I'll leave you to interpret that yourselves...
Note: I'm sorry, but July 6th-10th I will be going on a church camp. No phones are to leave the cabin, if they are brought at all. I have no idea if the cabins will have internet but I think my phone has a valid chance, because it's often worked a lot. But, who knows. So, I will be gone for four days. If it does work, I will hope to be able to get even just a bit of spare time to check up on some things. Cassy will be in charge. Have fun.
That is what I want to post. Anything you would like to add in? I already have a plan for Chapter 1, and I'm hoping to somehow be able to get that done before the trip. It'll satisfy the readers.
