This better get through the second time... And also, I will no longer be posting these, unless it's written by me, so the credit goes to the writer(s).
Except this one... for obvious reasons. And I had to fix the formatting... it got messed up as I moved it.
Noxory Proposal II
By Azure/AzureKoi42 (I really hope I got the username right.)
They’d established their love for each other, stuck with each other through thick and thin, peace and war, and chaos and order. So wasn’t it time to take the final plunge and tie the knot? But first, the question would have to be popped.
It had seemed like a good idea at the time, but now Nox wasn’t so sure. The easy part, getting the ring was over. Now it was time for the difficult part, actually proposing.
Gritting his teeth, he reached for the next hand-hold, a roughly hewn, rectangular stone that stuck out slightly from the others, every muscle in his body straining to keep still.
Because he’d wanted a Celest and Others free proposal, he’d resorted to climbing up to Ivory’s balcony and proposing in secret, like something out of a cheesy romance novel. However, after about twenty minutes of this strenuous climbing, he was seriously considering settling for a proposal that involved Celest and the Others.
After what felt like a hour, he finally reached the top, hauling himself over the intricate railing of the balcony. Dusting himself off, he straightened the sleeves and smoothed down the lapels of his charcoal suit. Once he had patted down his pocket to make sure that the tiny, snowy white box was still stowed safely inside, he made his way towards the balcony doors.
Knocking on the translucent glass doors, he whispered, “Ivory, it’s me, Nox.”
After a few moments accompanied by several quiet padding sounds, the doors opened, revealing Ivory, lovely in a simple and flowy, cream sheath dress that complemented her tanned skin and cinnamon tresses, barefoot. “Nox? What are you doing here, and how did you get up here? It’s one in the morning.”
Running his hands through his moon-lit, jet black hair, he replied, “I know, I know, I’m sorry for waking you up. But I have something important to ask you.”
“What is it,” asked Ivory, brushing past him, strolling to the railing, “And you still haven’t answered my other question.”
Momentarily stunned from the pleasant scent of her honeysuckle perfume, Nox stammered, “I, uh, climbed.”
“All the way up here, in a suit? You didn’t have to do that just to talk to me, silly,” laughed Ivory gently, the sound like melodious bells, “You had something to ask me?”
Nox could feel his cheeks reddening, the butterflies beginning to flutter their wings, as he randomly blurted out, “I-i, um, it’s a nice night, isn’t it?” mentally face-palming as soon as those words were out of his mouth.
“Yes it is,” agreed Ivory absentmindedly, the slight breeze ruffling her tousled hair as she glanced at the cloudless, velvety sapphire night, the silvery-blue moon large and luminous, the stars glittering like small diamonds scattered all over the sky. After spending a few minutes in companionable silence, Nox had gathered enough courage to finally ask. Clearing his throat, he said, “Ivory?”
As she turned around, Nox slid the box from his pocket, opening it as he got down on one knee. “Ivory,” he began, glancing up at her, “we’ve been together for several years now, and I’ll like to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?”
With her delicate hands held up to her face, choked with emotion, tears forming in her eyes, she began, “It’s gorgeous,” she said tearfully, admiring the ring nestled in the black velvet lining of the box. It was a large and round, lilac coloured diamond mounted on a thin silver band, with smaller, clear diamonds all over it, giving the appearance that there were raindrops on the ring. “Nox, I-” when suddenly, Love Story by Taylor Swift began blaring, Is this in my head? I don't know what to think. “-Is this part of your proposal? What’s going on?” she yelled over the loud music, bewildered, the moment they had over. He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said…
Marry me, Juliet, you'll never have to be alone. Ignoring her question, he got up, striding over to the edge of the balcony, having a nagging feeling about who was behind it.
“Celest, I know you’re there!” he shouted, peering out into the inky darkness, “Show yourself!” I love you, and that's all I really know!
I talked to your dad, go pick out a white dress. Sure enough, Celest and Moon walked out of the shadows, a camera in Moon’s hand, an alabaster Beats by Dr. Dre speaker in Celest’s, Azure and Edge on their heels, taking notes on notepads, Ebony, Blizz, Aryn, Wolfie, Eleya, and the others not far behind, all with huge grins on their faces. “I never pegged you for the romantic type, Nox,” jeered Blizz. “and how deep are you in debt now?” It’s a love story, baby just say yes!
Celest stopped the song right after that lyric, as everybody began cheering, “SAY YES, SAY YES!”
Nox led her by hand away from the balcony and they returned to their original positions. He gave her a brilliant smile, accompanied by an earnest look in his eye, “So, will you marry me?”
As soon as she saw his facial expression, her face crumpled. “Of course,” she breathed, as he slipped the ring on her left ring finger, the crowd going wild below them. After he stood up, they embraced, kissing. “I love you,” she whispered in his ear.
“I know, you said yes,” Pulling away, he smiled sheepishly, “May I borrow fifteen hundred dollars?” 'Cause we were both young when I first saw you.
