Here's the first part of my SAMB fanfiction! Credit to Tree for the title :)

Tree lounged happily in the new SAMB library. A gift from a mysterious donor, the library was amazing. Books lined the walls in the thousands and even more were stacked on tables and chairs. There was a roaring fire on one side of the large room that was surrounded by huge, plush pillows and puffy couches. Towering crystal-clear windows allowed daylight to pour in during the day, but right now, at almost midnight, the only light coming in through them was from the stars and moon. At the moment, Tree was alone in the library. The only sound was the crackling of the fire place.
With the book Throne of Glass in her hands, Tree anxiously tried to find a way to tire herself to sleep. After hours of lying restlessly in bed, she resorted to the deserted library. Might as well stay up the entire night, she mused. As the night slowly passed by, the moon soon came into view through one of the windows. Being a full moon, its silver light drenched the room in a peaceful daze. But there was something more to this full moon.
Tree paused her reading to glance up at the amazing sight of the lunar wonder. She sighed, exhausted but at the same time restless.
Suddenly, with a faint whoosh, the once fiercely-burning fire went out. An eerie silence fell upon the library, and the only light was from the moon. The atmosphere also felt different: a feeling of dread slowly began to creep over Tree. "Enjoying your stay?" Tree leapt from her chair and whirled around, prepared to fight.
To her surprise and horror, the antagonist of Throne of Glass, Queen Maeve, stood behind her. The evil Fae grinned viscously at Tree. "Goodbye," she chuckled, and suddenly Tree felt herself being pulled away from her opponent. Wind suddenly whipped through her midnight hair, though her surroundings seemed untouched. Maeve's grin widened to something cruel and wicked as the world seemed to suddenly blur away from Tree. "No!"
There was a bright flash of light, and when it ceased, Tree was gone. In her place the evil Maeve was left standing. With a grin that widened with each passing moment, she left the library, thoughts of horrific plans already coursing through her head.
