It's finally here guys.

Let's just start this. Apolaka's agitating to be mentioned already.
Part I: Apolaka
Apolaka lounged around in Maria’s brain. It was class time, which meant Mayari was controlling. It was also a time of relaxation for her, since she usually had to control all the time--
Apolaka shot straight up. Mayari was calling her.
School’s over. Besides, I’m getting a call. You gotta control right now.
But I always control!
Chill. They probably wouldn’t call me unless either there’s a problem with the portals, or you have to kick butt. And judging by the way they called, I think it’s the latter.
She went to the back of their head, probably to go ask what’s happening.
Apolaka stood up. Right now, Maria was fixing her things before leaving the classroom. She was on autopilot. Good.
Hang on, is that--
“INTRUDER ALERT!” Someone was going into the classroom without permission! “EVERYONE BREAK OUT THE FINGERGUNS!”
Apolaka fingergunned the boy out the classroom, who also happened to be her crush, Troy. He returned. Of course he did. She attempted to fingergun him again*, but--
A dark pink spark appeared in his eyes, so fast that Apolaka wrote it off as imagination. His tone changed. “Maria, I gotta speak to you in the football field after school. Could you…”
“Yes,” said Apolaka. Wait, how was I to...whatever. Act first, worry later.
“Cool. Seeya round.” He walked away.
Wait, he didn’t do a thumbs-up! He always does a thumbs-up and would probably stay in the classroom to annoy me. What is happening…
Maria had gone back to fixing her things, and was now about to leave the classroom. Apolaka stopped her, and she ran to the bathroom, sitting on the toilet and pressing a hidden button on her glasses.
A broadcast went up. Puppy showed up onscreen. “Uh. You’re on now? I thought…”
No, Mayari didn’t tell me.
“Oh. Okay. Uh, there’s a monster in your area.”
“In your school.”
Apolaka seized up inside Maria’s head. What? But that doesn’t…
“Recently, monsters have been turning up closer and closer to SAMBers. I don’t know, my job isn’t to find these things. May will be sending you your powers, and Lolvana is on active reserve.” Puppy gnawed on her waffle, a sign she was either nervous or hungry. “Puppy, over and out.”
Apolaka stood up. A portal appeared, and she caught whatever was thrown out of it. It was a small golden orb. Apolaka shoved it into her heart, and a dull grey orb popped out as she changed into SAMBer form.
Good. The orbs were working.
She shoved the grey one back in and hid the gold one in her jacket pocket as she walked out, getting her bag as she walked down, back on autopilot, and Apolaka sat in the corner of her head to think.
The heck was he doing? I know Troy’s actions, I’ve been his friend for a schoolyear already. I know he’s stupid, stubborn, and overreacts all the time. He has never ever walked out when I yelled at him for doing so. Was--was that spark I saw real?
Apolaka knows she should probably take it more seriously, but it’s hard to take anyone in this school seriously. They performed CPR on a kid without training, for goodness sakes!*
She felt a sudden jolt forward. Maria had tripped on a rock. Apolaka cursed--and saw a hand.
Troy was helping her up.
Apa was so astonished that she accidentally leaned on the hormones switch, a thing she never ever would do in her life.
Suddenly, Maria was a spluttering mess of limbs and awkward sorrys. Apolaka cursed in her head.
The mess that Maria currently was had now been graced with a smile coming from Troy. “No problem. Don’t forget my request, kay?” He walked off.
Apolaka set Maria to autopilot once more and began thinking again.
Troy would never in a million years help Maria up. There was a shipping problem last year, and both of them were doing their best to combat it. That would have most definitely be shipping material, and Lord forbid they ever do something like that ever.*
Something was clearly up with that boy.
Apolaka didn’t have to be stupid to figure it was probably the monster.
That's about all I could reasonably fit into one post without feeling remorse.
Which is, uh, not a lot actually.
This AU is more like a jumble of stories about SAMBers kicking butt with an overarching story at play. It's more of a series than a story. You'll have to see it like that.
That is it, and that is all. Until next time.
Please tell us why you'd like to report this post
