It's for a school audition, and I just feel like being "appropriate" rules out anything interesting. It's all just "I can't marry you and here's why" or something equally bland. I found a great one about pyromania, but apparently it's too dark. And it has to be from a play. Do you know anything?

There are some cool Shakespeare ones! I recommend looking up the comedies and finding something funny. And you'll get bonus points for memorizing Shakespeare!

 

Check the library -- there are some books out there with monologues for young actors that have plays you've never heard of but might be really fun.

 funny i am working on a monologue my self for school. but I got my monologue from 39 clues the black book of buried secrets and my teacher helped me fix it up.
