Still dark. Still no sign of people except for the chatter downstairs. Someone laughs obnoxiously. Someone else shushes them.
I am starting to get hungry. And pretty thirsty, too. There is absolutely nothing in here. How much longer would they keep me in here?
Suddenly I hear footsteps. Heavy footsteps. Someone big is coming up the stairs. I back up to the opposite wall and wait. The door handle jiggles and I can hear keys moving. It opens with a squeak, and a buff man with lots of tattoos enters. "'Ello, lil' lady. Nahce ta see ya awake." His accept is thick ,and I don't really like it.
"Why am I here?" I say firmly.
He laughs whole-heartedly. "Because we want you on our side."
"Not a great way of getting me to like you, now is it?"
"Well, we had to take some...mmm...precautiouns. That's all. Here, let me explain to you what's going on, then you will understand it all much clearer. Walk with me." I cautiously follow him out of the room. "We aren't the bad guys here." He starts. "It is those blasted elementals. Everything we are doing is to exterminate them. They are the ones who stole from us. Oh, haha, i forgot to introduce myself! I am Posideon, the God of water, among other things. One of those being Earthquakes." I perked up. Earthquakes? This could be bad... "The people a long while ago down our bloodline stole powers from us. But we are growing weaker. You, Zora, are a goddess. And you can heklp us stop them.
"HINNI?! I'm a goddess? But...how is that possible?!" I asked, absolutely flabbergasted.
"It's true. The untold goddess of life. Not only can you control soil and rock, as you know, you can will plants to aid you from the soil. You are a decendant of Demeter, Greek goddess of the harvest.**"
"Wow...This is just so unbelievable." I mumur. A goddess? Me? But I swore to myself never to use my powers...I dont really ahve to do that as a goddess, right?
*Hinni = What
**I am not actually a goddess, they are just lying to me. just your average elemental. ;J
