Hey Chieko! Sounds like Kaine, xD. Once again, thank you for the quick POV.
After that, the girl seemed to return to that half-smile of hers. She tilted her head, as if in imitation of me: “I’m Kay. Kaine, actually. Kaine Ceres Altera.” It was funny how she got quieter with each sentence. But then she seemed to realize that, and she raised her voice back up.
Her name is Kay…Kaine Ceres Altera as her full name, I reminded myself, keeping a mental note. Then, I perked up when she complimented my name. Usually people just remarked it was hard to say and hard to spell. She continued, “Pity mine’s so… dull.” I was glad that she continued to talk. She had a really nice voice, I thought. But I didn’t want for her to make her name less than mine, though.
“No, you have a really nice name,” I told her, and I meant it. “It’s not dull at all!” I added, the correction probably being too loud, I realized, for such a quiet person like Kay. I lowered my voice suddenly, letting it drift away, as I racked my brain’s name dictionary to the names “Kay” and “Kaine”. I didn’t wait any longer: “So, are you a warrior who brings and acquires rejoice?” I asked, and then realized how silly my combination of her names’ meanings sounded.
Typical Aeolus, saying all that. And, as my special explanation for that last part, the name “Kaine” means acquired, and is associated with spears and battle; while rejoice is the meaning of the name “Kay”. Therefore, Aiolos’ combination of both names’ meanings is: A warrior who brings and acquires rejoice. xD.
Don't worry about that, we probably all work on our characters from behind the scenes.
