Alright, so I know my last post on here was sort of a half goodbye but last week, my uncle gave me a surprise visit to my house and basically said he was kidnapping me and my older for a week and a half. He legit put a paper hat on our heads and helped us in our car after packing our suitcases. After the drive, we arrived at the airport and he made us be blindfolded all throughout the airport. Even went to extreme lengths to keep us from not knowing what was going on and had TSA pat us down, which was sort of cool and scary at the same time. After that, we got on the airplane and we allowed to take off the blindfolds for four hours. After that, he made us put them back on.
The flight was over 11 hours long and during that, my brother and I sat there, listening to music and feeling rather confused about what the heck was even going on. It was the next day when we got to our destination and my uncle had us in a car and some guy drove us. When the car stopped, two hours later, my uncle woke me up and helped both of us out and said we could pull off our blindfolds. It was then we realized it wasn't home and he explained we were in Russia. First time out of the united states!
Long story short, my brother, my uncle, and I saw Russia for most of the week and the rest of the trip we were in Australia. It was really amazing and I got to even speak Russian with other Russians. (I learned Russian with my older sister who's taking it for a college course.) I have a horrible accent but it was fun to communicate.
During my time in Austalia, I got to see a lot of cool places and I even got to go to this parkour gym place and got to try out some moves with my brother. The real reason why my uncle took us was that he had to travel there for a business meeting with his company and two interns canceled last minute from going so we basically took their place but instead of being interns, we got to see sights and drive around, looking at everything we could. It was pretty cold but ti was still awesome.
Long story short, I'm back and I think I'm going to stay for a little bit longer, depends on if I can reconnect back with everyone. It's good to see this place still alive.
