From my experience, it depends who does it. The first time, hhhhhhh yeah it was horrible, although that could just be my then 6th grader mind exaggerating things. The second time (fairly recently), I barely even felt it. I laughed the whole time and the nurse probably thought I was losing it

It feels like getting a shot, but on the inside of your elbow. Remember that you don't feel pain when you exhale. I hope it goes well!

It stings a little, and you'll probably be able to feel the needle in your vein. The experience is different for everyone. (I nearly passed out the last time I got my blood drawn, but that was kind of me overreacting.) Good luck!

Oh, how I've missed you, my friend...

Time has changed us both.

But deep down, our hearts remain the same.

So, no matter where life takes us, remember...

Drink a lot of water beforehand, that will help make it easier to stick and finding the vein will be easier. I’ve been so dehydrated that they had to draw blood from the back of my hand, which is much more painful. It wasn’t like awful pain, but it was considerably more than what it feels like when it’s drawn from the elbow. Overall just stay calm and you’ll be fine. You can look away if you want, I personally find it easier to watch. Talking to someone while it’s being drawn might help you as well. But yeah my biggest piece of advice is drink a lot of water in the days leading up to it, it makes things so much easier.

When it’s time for you to venture out, don’t let fear have you looking back at what you’re leaving behind.
